May 2011 - Lisa Merlino, Invest in Kids' Executive Director, has been named to the 2011 class of Livingston Fellows by the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation. This program recognizes promising nonprofit leaders for their potential for "significant and unique contributions to the nonprofit sector" and provides funding to pursue advanced learning and professional development opportunities. December, 2010 - Invest in Kids was recently recognized with a prestigious Silver Medal rating for program effectiveness by GiveWell, an independent non-profit charity evaluator. There are over 1,000,000 U.S. charities and of the 409 GiveWell has reviewed, only ten were recommended. IIK was recognized for committment to evidence-based programming, fidelity to proven models, and transparency in sharing information.
