Donor Spotlight: Karen and Steve Gottesfeld

Steve and Karen Gottesfeld were introduced to IIK nearly 20 years ago by way of the founding Executive Director, Jennifer Atler Fischer, and Board Member and Founder, Eric Hilty. Steve and Karen describe how they were immediately drawn to IIK because of the extensive research-based programs and the consistent, positive outcomes of Nurse-Family Partnership® and The Incredible Years®. Steve also became involved with IIK’s Jane-A-Thon in its early stages.

As the General Counsel for Newmont Mining Corporation, Steve recognizes the value in Newmont’s continued participation in the Jane-A-Thon year over year. For companies like Newmont, the Jane-A-Thon is not only an important way to raise money for children and families in need, but also allows employees to enjoy the best that this state has to offer at this uniquely Colorado event. The friendly competition that goes on both on the slopes and in raising the most dollars for IIK keeps Steve and Newmont coming back every year!

Steve and Karen are Colorado natives living in Denver with their three sons. Steve and Karen describe their respect and admiration for the staff and volunteers that are committed to IIK’s mission, though IIK credits Steve and Karen for being a driving force behind this work by living out their passion for making our communities stronger through their ongoing partnership with IIK!
